recently i gave a talk in church about Jesus Christ. I wanted to focus on how we truly are saved by grace. Many people are confused about what truly saves us in the end. I can tell you with all clarity it is not by our works. Service to God will bless us, but the salvation of ones soul has already be predetermined...your already saved by grace. Think about it. God is omnipotent and all knowing. He knows who will be with him after they die and he know who will choose to fall. But hope is not lost! The infinite atonement has been in place since the beginning of time and will be around for eternity. Christ's atonement saves those who sin in ignorance, little children who cannot repent, and those who do not know of the gospel of Jesus Christ and most commonly all of us who mess up in life. How merciful is this?? This brings a tremendous hope to my soul. No matter what sins anyone has committed, Jesus Christ felt the sins of every man. HE KNOWS YOUR PAIN. YOU ARE NEVER ALONE. dont ever say no one understands how i feel....there is One who does and he is your savior.
heres a piece of my talk:
“I am amazed at the Savior’s encircling arms of mercy and love for the repentant, no matter how selfish the forsaken sin. I testify that the Savior is able and eager to forgive our sins.” CLOSE QUOTE.
In 1 Nephi 11: 26-27 it says, “Behold the condescension of God. And I looked and beheld the redeemer of the world…the Lamb of God…” What is condescension exactly? What does that mean to us? Gerald Lund in Doctrines of the Book of Mormon, says, “ He showed condescension in his patience and restraint when brought before men for judgment…The God who created everything was judged to be nothing! And yet he endured it with complete patience. Imaging the Being whose power, whose light, whose glory holds the universe in order, the Being who speaks and solar systems, galaxies, and stars come into existence- standing before wicked men and being judged by them as being of no worth or value!” Christ had the power to create this world and he could just have easily destroyed it with a simple command. But he didn’t. He stood there, he endured, he suffered, he condescended. For us this means that we are worth it, we are loved by him, no matter what our circumstances, trials, or sins may be.Salvation is made possible by Christ, but we must embrace the grace he offers us.
The Lord’s desire that we come unto Him and be wrapped in His arms is often an invitation to repent. “Behold, he sendeth an invitation unto all men, for the arms of mercy are extended towards them, and he saith: Repent, and I will receive you.”13
“When we sin, we turn away from God. When we repent, we turn back toward God.
may we all CHOOSE to get up...brush ourselves off and start a new day...fresh and clean through Christ
